Indiana Mustang and Burro Club

Bojangles the Burro We got there Friday the day before the adoption to look over the animals. I made my list of tag #s that I liked. They only had 4 yearling jennies, so I made a list of other burros I liked. The day of the adoption, I turned in my application and waited for the drawing. Unfortunately I was one of the last picked. The jennies went quick. So I resorted to my pick of other burros, all jacks. When my time came up, Brett dragged me over to the burro pen and pointed out one he like. Brett had been watching him and he was not aggressive towards the others and seemed laid back. I too like the looks of him. So I picked him. Now I don’t regret not getting the jenny that I picked out. Bojangles gentling was slow going and frustrating at first, then it was like someone turned on a light, one day he just accepted us and allowed us to touch and pet him. He is very affectionate, and always demands all the attention. He was quiet when we first got him home for several weeks, I longed to hear his bray. Then one day, getting impatient for his breakfast he let out his delightful bray. He sounded kinda like someone letting out the air out a balloon as his bray came to a end. I still love hearing him bray in the morning, it always brings a smile to my face. I plan this year to work on training Bo for driving. I have purchased a used harness for him to start his training this spring. I would love one day to take him to Hoosier Horse Fair to represent the club and burros.
